The Savage Art Of Bob Larkin vol.1

Because of the cover choice, I think this book has gotten "hidden" amidst the growing mass of SQP barbarian gallery girl books. I didn't pick up on the fact that this Bob Larkin was the prolific magazine & book cover artist and that this was a collection of those works. Not that there's anything wrong with a book full of girls, this volume is instead full of well-known figures from pop-media - the Bible, Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek, Star Wars, Jaws, Eagle Force, Rook, Doc Savage, Conan, King Kull, James Bond, Charlie's Angels, the band Kiss, the famous movie monsters and a cornucopia of the characters of Marvel Comics. Counting the covers, there are 58 full-page reproductions with another eight pages of multiple images. There are one or two drawings, while everything else is paintings. A particular aspect that I liked was that while the artist has done a number of wrap-around covers, those displayed here were all kept to a single page, rather than have the gutter split them in a double-page spread.
