                                (SQP (Sal Quartuccio Publications))

Various SQP releases that gather the art produced by Rich Larson over the years, ranked here with the best presentation first, to the least so on the bottom.

Rich Larson's Haunted House Of Lingerie  vol.1   (1997)    A fun book, with 54 Rich Larson pencil-drawings of strong damsels wearing their flimsy nothings while running afoul of the denizens of darkness.  The lightness and unfinished nature of the pieces make me yearn for them to have been inked.  Indeed, 13 more artworks seen here are finished & toned by Steve Fastner (and two of those as paintings on the front- & back-covers), which make them the stand-outs of this collection.  Anyway, most of the pieces are captioned with a title and only one page is lost to the introduction (though it does have a smaller drawing as well).  The artist walks that fine line of salaciousness - obviously, these women are 'on display', but their depicted activities almost always skew to the action side of this dimension, rather than the sexual.  The gratuitousness of their near nudity is the joke.

Rich Larson's Bed & Bondage 2   (2008)    A fun collection of Rich Larson's drawings around the theme of rope-restrained fems.  64 pages, with paintings on both the front & back covers.  Those paintings are repeats of two of the drawings inside which have been finished and colored by Larson's partner, Steve Fastner, who contributes an additional accompanying grey-toning image to six other of the pencilings gathered here too.  That then leaves 41 more full-page pieces by Larson, along with a single-page introduction and an entire 12-page silent sequential-art story.  There's a lot of nudity and lingerie, but the bondage itself seems to be the end-all-be-all, without any overt salaciousness.  Most of the images are portrayed in a fantasy milieu having, for example, dwarf devils & angels along with pet dragons cavorting with the hemp & chains.  All the images are accompanied by a cute title.  Note that THE FASTNER & LARSON GALLERY and HAUNTED HOUSE OF LINGERIE are both better collections with Larson's art, but there are no repeats from those books.
