Frank Frazetta: The Frazetta Pillow Book (1994 - Kitchen Sink Press)
A slim volume of 45 pages, but 35 are dedicated to full-page presentations of the art pieces. Almost all the pages are backgrounded with a soft creamy pastel which adds to the beauty of this book. There are two double-page-spreads, but only one of them satisfactorily bridges the gutter. There isn't hardly anyone in the book, male or female, who isn't nude. The humans are joined by elves, pixies & sprites, along with cute whimsically cartoonish images that put the unselfconscious innocence of childhood on display (possibly to be objected to by the more prudish segments of our society). The text is several introductions about the artist, one of them by his wife, who relates that almost all of this collection are private watercolors that Frazetta made as gifts for her. You do need to get this book in addition to the higher recommended books FANTASTIC PAINTINGS OF FRAZETTA, Underwood trilogy (ICON, LEGACY & TESTAMENT), and FANTASTIC WORLDS OF FRANK FRAZETTA, as only five images here are repeated from those books.
