Forrest J. Ackerman's World of Science Fiction

[-BELOW THE LINE-] (by Forrest J. Ackerman) Well, first, don't confuse this with Ackerman's other picture book, WORLDS OF TOMORROW, which, art-wise, is a far superior volume. This book, with 239 pages, gives way too many of them over to text about the genre and pictures of Sci-Fi film-work, leaving only 62 to be dominated by art (only 25 of those feature a single large reproduction, while the other 37 gather two-or-more smaller images together). With such scarcity, it can't make it up onto The List. There are almost no art-captions whatsoever, though a handful do make a point of identifying the year/month of the displayed periodical covers. The 'well-presented' artists that I could identify are: Neil Austin, Kelly Freas*, Robert Fuqua (2), M. Gourdon, Arthur Hawkins, Victor Kalin, Robert McCall, Gustave Moreau, Frank R. Paul (7) , Ferenc Pinter, Wesso (2), and UNKNOWN (5).
* - Note that the Freas cover included in here does not appear 'well presented' in any of his collections up on The List.
