The Visual Encyclopedia Of Science Fiction [-BELOW THE LINE-] Fun to flip through, but indeed sorely lacking in real art coverage. Only 65 of the book's 352 pages are half (or better) art and only 24 of those focus on some large reproduction of a single piece. The voluminous information is the point here. As you might imagine, there's a lot of text and 124 of those pages do have one or two small reproductions of a book cover or magazine illustration. I'm not counting the large number of black-&-white presentations of color works. The artist's who have a 'well-presented" piece are: Earle Bergey, Hannes Bok (2), Chesley Bonestell, Edd Cartier (2), Don Davis, A.J. Donnell, Fidus (Hugo Hoppener), Virgil Finlay (2), Jean-Claude Forest, Chris Foss, Jackie Franke, Colin Hay, Ian Miller, Gray Morrow, Paul Orban, Frank R. Paul, Albert Robida, UNKNOWN (4) and the wrap-around cover is by Tim White*. * - Note that White's piece here is better presented in his own collections up on The List. other Sci-Fi art collections Planet Of The Apes Artist Tribute Tomorrow And Beyond - Masterpieces Of Science Fiction Art Worlds Beyond Time - Sci-Fi Art Of The 1970s The New Visions - A Collection Of Modern Science Fiction Art Infinite Worlds - The Fantastic Visions Of Science Fiction Art 2000 A.D. - Illustrations From The Golden Age Of Science Fiction Pulps Collectors Press's Sci-Fi collections Encyclopedia Of Science Fiction One Hundred Years Of Science Fiction Illustration Fantastic Science Fiction Art 1926-1954 A Pictorial History Of Science Fiction Bradbury - An Illustrated Life Alien Invasions!
