Rick Griffin (by Gordon McClelland) While it doesn't appear as such in my early edition, this book is also widely known as THE ART OF RICK GRIFFIN. This book seems to have gone out of print again, being released the last time by Last Gasp Books. It is an effective collection of this artist, mostly known for embracing & expanding the realm of psychedelic art of the 1960s, including his show-posters, record sleeves and alternative-comics art. It also gathers a number of pieces from his wanderings in other genres as well (for example, his Christian-themed art after his conversion in the following decade). Nearly 70 pages of this book's 95 focus in on his art images - 53 with single large reproductions of a piece. The rest contain a number of his sequential art sheets, as well as photographs and an introduction. Every large piece is captioned with its title, creation year, client's name if it was commissioned and almost always an anecdote concerning it. A lot of the presentation is his pen & ink work, but the colorful paintings stand-out and dominate the book. other Paper Tiger Monographs Paper Tiger's Boris Vallejo/Julie Bell books Paper Tiger's Boris Vallejo books Chris Achilleos: Beauty And The Beast Paper Tiger's Chris Foss books The Fantasy Art Techniques Of Tim Hildebrandt Paper Tiger's Bob Eggleton collections Ron Miller: Firebrands - The Heroines Of Science Fiction & Fantasy Journeyman - The Art Of Chris Moore Tom Adams' Agatha Christie Cover Story Mermaids And Magic Shows - The Paintings Of David Delamare The Deceiving Eye - The Art Of Richard Hescox Parallel Lines - The Science Fiction Illustrations Of Peter Elson & Chris Moore Only Visiting This Planet - The Art Of Danny Flynn Inner Visions - The Art Of Ron Walotsky Enchanted World - The Art Of Anne Sudworth Frank Kelly Freas: As He Sees It Hardyware - The Art Of David A.
