Chris Achilleos: Beauty And The Beast 78 pages of art here, with 74 of them being full-page reproductions. Among those are seven double-page spreads, every one of them satisfactory (due to laying them out to fall on the portfolio-centers). Making all the pages non-white and instead using a palette of saturated hues for backgrounds, certainly makes the 'framed' paintings pop visually. Each painting is captioned with its title and there is an index page that adds publication & date info, as well as a book's author, if the painting is a cover. The remaining text pages are an introduction and the artist's thoughts about the idea of heroism. Among the works, you'll find the personages of Muhammad Ali, Bruce Lee, Medusa, Doctor Who, Tarl Cabot, Dray Prescot, Raven, the cowboy McAllistar, Almuric, Kull and other characters from the books of Burroughs, Howard & Moorcock, along with assorted u.f.o.s, spaceships, robots, aliens, monsters, wizards and nudes & pin-ups (both fantasy and futuristic). A couple of the images pursue adult themes too far in explicitness, so I put this book away from children. other Paper Tiger monographs Paper Tiger's Boris Vallejo/Julie Bell books Paper Tiger's Boris Vallejo books Paper Tiger's Chris Foss books The Fantasy Art Techniques Of Tim Hildebrandt Paper Tiger's Bob Eggleton collections Ron Miller: Firebrands - The Heroines Of Science Fiction & Fantasy Journeyman - The Art Of Chris Moore Tom Adams' Agatha Christie Cover Story Mermaids And Magic Shows - The Paintings Of David Delamare The Deceiving Eye - The Art Of Richard Hescox Parallel Lines - The Science Fiction Illustrations Of Peter Elson & Chris Moore Only Visiting This Planet - The Art Of Danny Flynn Inner Visions - The Art Of Ron Walotsky Enchanted World - The Art Of Anne Sudworth Frank Kelly Freas: As He Sees It Hardyware - The Art Of David A.
