The Western Paintings Of Frank C. McCarthy This is part of a nice set of paperback artbooks, longer than they are tall, roughly 9-by-11 inches, each 96 pages, presenting their color plates in 'museum' fashion, with the blank facing page holding only a respectful caption of title and, in this instance, the creation-year and the then-current collection holding it. There are 47 color plates, counting both the front & back covers, and a two-page introduction. This volume scores lower than THE ART OF FRANK C. McCARTHY, but know that you'll find 42 new paintings here (there being only 5 repeats from the better volume). And as detailed in my review of that book, I actually prefer this less cluttered presentation, not to mention the absence of splitting large works that this long book allows. (Though it has to be admitted that the reproduction-quality in this much older publication is not as high-quality). Related Books other Ballantine/Bantam monographs The Outdoor Paintings Of Robert K.
