The World Of Shannara
                                             (2009 - Del Rey Books)

[ - BELOW THE LINE - ]  (by Terry Brooks & Teresa Patterson)  The first edition of this book, in 2001, featured only the art of David A. Cherry and he is said to have contributed additional material to the later larger & updated version, along with Rob Alexander.  I'd say that Cherry can be judged to have created the lion's share of the art present in the volume.  This newer version is a 302-page book with only 18 examples of well-presented paintings by the two of them.  There are nearly 80 smaller pieces that are mostly interesting character portraits of the people who populate Terry Brook's Shannara fantasy world.  The one double-page spread is a disappointing display of its painting.  Along with the text, there are some maps, diagrams and charts to assist the series fan's imagination.
