The Outdoor Paintings Of Robert K. Abbett (1976 - Peacock Press / Bantam)
This is part of a nice set of paperback artbooks, longer than they are tall, roughly 9-by-11 inches, each 96 pages, presenting their color plates in 'museum' fashion, with the blank facing page holding a respectful caption of title, original size, medium, collection. In this particular book, the caption also presents publication and exhibition info for each piece, as well as a healthy commentary by the artist. In addition to the three-page introduction, you'll find 47 'well-presented' paintings here, counting both the front & back covers. Maybe a third of the book carries Western-themed pieces and the rest are sportsman-inclined vignettes - dogs, horses, gamebirds and lots & lots of beautiful New England wilderness.
