Tapestry - The Paintings Of Robert E. McGinnis (edited by Cathy & Arnie Fenner) A smaller book than you would think, 10-by-11 inches and 128 pages, but it presents most of its included art as large reproductions and then scores as the best collection of the artist's work. In fact, 114 of those pages let a nearly-full-page image, or better, dominate. Among those, are 21 images that spread over the central gutter and only one is a real loser in that presentation. Add to those large-reproduction pages another six that contain two-or-so smaller images. The art is grouped into chapters called Book Covers, Movie Posters, Landscapes, Illustration, Western Art, and Ladies. In some of its examples, that final chapter has the nudity that was only teased in the earlier ones. Captions are usually just the titles of the pieces, though the movie posters also detail the year created. The relatively little bit of text includes McGinnis's own words about his origins and how they continue to influence his work.
