The Alluring Art Of Margaret Brundage (by Stephen D. Korshak & J. David Spurlock) For me, the centerpiece of this 184-page monograph (subtitled QUEEN OF PULP PIN-UP ART) is the 70-odd full-page pulp-magazine covers, which is then joined by another 24 full-bleed reproductions of her original paintings. There is another 5 pages with multiple images, but most of these are examples by other artists or art-activist materials to give a flavor of the times Margaret Brundage moved through. There are a a number of 'articles' about her & her work, along with a large essay by Spurlock, entitled "The Secret Life of Margaret Brundage", which all together provide 67 text-pages trying to be as complete as possible in detailing her life (in case this is the only book featuring her - it is certainly the only one now . . .). Anyway, the reproductions all seem topnotch. The female form is frequently on display and there is some nudity throughout the book. Note that the Deluxe edition has some additional material that is reported to include some more art. Other Vanguard releases Vanguard's Frank Brunner collections RGK - The Art Of Roy G.
