The Art Of Ken Kelly
                                             (1990 - FPG/Friedlander Publishing Group)

This first Kelly collection has nine drawings and 41 paintings.  Two of the paintings are presented sideways, but one of those is 'well-presented' on the back cover.  One of the paintings is a double-page spread reproduced on a single fold-out.  Each of the paintings is faced with a blank page containing only the painting's title as a caption.  Editorially, let me say that this artist has earned his place in the fantasy-art pantheon, but I am in the camp of those who've expressed that this first collection of, admittedly, commissioned professional artworks has just too many that seem awkward and not quite 'ready for primetime'.  With that said, the comparative handful of images that stand out from the others are strikingly captivating.
