Tom Of Finland   (Taschen)
                                             (1992 - Taschen)

Not appropriate for children or adolescents.  There are a number of similar collections of his work without clear distinctions between them unless you examine closely for the differences.  This one from Taschen (which has others) is simply entitled with the artist's name and is an 80 page book with 59 art pages.  48 of those are large presentations of single works.  Most of the 11 multiple-image pages are spreads of his storybook covers, greeting cards or other commercial work.  Four pages of sequential-art are shown, as two of those storybooks are presented in their entirety.  Some leather & bondage fetishism are on display here, but certainly not to the same extent as the evident love of uniform (or, at least, men in them . . .).  The works are not titled, but each is captioned with the execution date.  The text is repeated in English, German & French and includes a biography and life-timeline of the artist, as well as an introduction of the commercial company and the charitable artistic-preservation foundation that survive him.  Adult themes make up a significant portion of the subjects of these works, in addition to the portraiture, body study and illustration, so again, it is not a book for minors.
