Sticking It To The Man (2020 - PM Press)
(edited by Andrew Nette & Iain McIntyre) This book is subtitled REVOLUTION AND COUNTER CULTURE IN PULP AND POPULAR FICTION, 1950 TO 1980 and is primarily the text of many essays taking a lengthy scholarly look at this perceived under-examined substantial 'fringe' sub-section of publishing. Disappointing if viewed through the art-lover's lens - out of the book's 326 pages, only 19 could be said to (as this site defines it) 'well-present' a book cover image (mainly from the negative space outweighing text) and another 56 that each focus-in on a gathering of them. Also, do note that out of those 250 text-pages, 213 have some cover-art adornment, sometimes a single quarter-page cover image, but usually just a handful, or less, of slightly-larger-than-a-postage-stamp cover-exhibits. The 'well-presented' artists found here are: Carol Binch, Bill Edwards, G. H., Ernie Kollar, Rosemary Pointer ('Buzz'), Arnaldo Putzu, Ellen Raskin, Mozelle Thompson, Bill Tinker, Boris Vallejo, David Willardson, [?] Williams, and UNKNOWN ARTIST (7).
