Under Cover - An Illustrated History of American Mass Market Paperbacks [-BELOW THE LINE-] (by Thomas L. Bonn) This is a smaller, 9-by-7.5-inch, book of 144 pages, of which only 22 can be said to really feature the art. Those are glossy full-color pages with two to six book cover images each - no particular art-images 'well-presented', as this site scores it. The remaining text pages, providing a broad overview of the paperback publishing industry with a bit more elaboration into the production process (both design & logistics), are interspersed with black-&-white images of some other color covers. In all, not a lot with which to recommend this volume, from an arts-presentation viewpoint. other paperback cover art collections The Art Of Romance - Mills & Boon And Harlequin Cover Designs Breathless Homicidal Slime Mutants - The Art Of The Paperback Feral House's paperback cover art books The Look Of Love - The Art Of The Romance Novel Strange Sisters - The Art Of Lesbian Pulp Fiction 1949-1969 Krause's paperback cover art collections Young Lusty Sluts - A Pictorial History Of Erotic Pulp Fiction The Art Of Pulp Fiction - An Illustrated History Of Vintage Paperbacks Chronicle's paperback cover art collections Paperbacks, U.S.A. - A Graphic History, 1939-1959 [BELOW THE LINE] SEND US A COMMENT (goes via e-mail - all info kept anonymous, but comment itself may be shared . . .) |
