Image Comics's Jay Anacleto collections The Art Of Jay Anacleto (2002) A nice slim volume of full-page works on a non-white background. A significantly better art-presentation than it's sibling below, but not ideal. Let's talk first of the ten color pieces each followed by a page of multiple black-&-white excerpts from the work. Thankfully, there's another 21 pages without the same kind of redundancy, as well as three pages of smaller images from the artist's sketchbooks. Almost all of the 31 large reproductions are accompanied by commentary about the work and what use it was put to. There's also a five-page section showing a single work from idea to completion, including the coloring, which seems to always be completed by another artist (and every such colorist is captioned throughout this collection). Most of the work is dramatic fantasy character-studies that were used for covers of comic works.
