Milo Manara:  Donne e Motori
                                             (2003 - Grifo Edizioni)

DONNE E MOTORI translates to "Women & Automobiles."  La Republica is currently Italy's largest newspaper and they have a periodic Auto supplement that has commissioned Manara for a number of front-page illustrations.  Those from 1992 through 2003 are collected here.  So 44 full-page images of his women, in some auto-related theme (12 drawings and the rest are color pieces) and another three pages of smaller shots of all of those works, as they appeared on the front-pages themselves.  Unfortunately, the book's rather bloated with 33 interstitial pages because they gave each year its own chapter, even if a year had as little as two images. There are also two pages of Italian text at the beginning.  Bare breasts in such a public forum is not objectionable across the Atlantic and indeed that's as far as the nudity extends in these pieces.  As this site scores them, THE WOMEN OF MANARA is recommended before this book, but know there are only two repeated 'well-presented' artworks between them.
