     (by Anthony Taylor)    Full disclosure: Two years ago, I provided a bit of research assistance when this book was being composed and I have been counting the author as a new friend. …and also I'm a huge fan of this artist to boot.  Out of this book's 208 pages you'll find 142 of them featuring large reproductions of Wilson's works with another 31 pages each collecting together two-or-more exhibits.  Note that about a fifth of the displays are the actual book & comic covers.  Included in the art-page count are eight that are utilized to present four larger images spread over the central gutter (all of them remain satisfactory that way).  There's also another 31 pages of text providing interesting industry, educational, biographical, inspirational details, stories & thoughts.  The captioning is usually seen as a block of text every few pages delivering the title (or use) of the relatively nearby art, and publisher & medium (if known)(the blocks frequently cover a number of pages).  Note that there is a pronounced darkening to be found in about a dozen of the many exhibits.  It has to be said that an overview of this man's career has been long overdue, but it is glorious that this volume has finally arrived to fill that void.  While you run across his covers in many genre collections of comics, magazines & books, it is so much more pleasurable to page through all these paintings in one volume dedicated to his work.
