Master Storyteller - An Illustrated Tour Of The Fiction Of L. Ron Hubbard
                                             (2003 - Galaxy Press)

(by William J. Widder)    A celebration of the life of prolific author L. Ron Hubbard, especially through covers and illustrations associated with his fiction writings.  Note that a good portion of the display are covers of the particular magazines *in which* a story of his appeared, while not being art *of* that story.  In this 208-page book, 109 pages feature the magazine & book art, with 28 of them each focusing on a single large reproduction.  The illustrations come from the genres of western, mystery, horror, fantasy and the more voluminous science-fiction.  There are numerous pictures of the author and quite a bit of fawning text about his achievements and sterling characteristics, seemingly culled from his own self-promotional biography, still, the art-reproduction quality is outstanding throughout.  The 'well-presented' artists are:  Rudolph Belarski, Hannes Bok, Edd Cartier (4), Frank Frazetta (5)***, Graves Gladney, Gerry Grace (6), Robert Gibson Jones, Gary Meyer, Hubert Rogers, Santry, Greg Winters, & UNKNOWN (5).

*** - Note that in regards to the 'well-presented' pieces here by Frazetta and Cartier, some, but not all, can also be found 'well-presented' in their own collections on The List.
