Brush Strokes With Greatness - The Life & Art Of Joe Sinnott (by Tim Lasiuta) A fun book, but it barely made it onto The List art-wise. 136 pages and only 57 can be said to be predominantly showing the art. Of course, there's another 30, or so, with sheets of sequential-art and pictures of Sinnott, his family and his career partners-in-crime. And almost that many again that feature a smaller image accompanying text about that career. I'll note here that the text is all very enjoyable and informative. Of the art-pages, nearly 30 display a large well-presented piece, though a good number of these are comic splash pages with exposition, speech-balloons and indicia in place. A handful of color pieces are included, while the rest are black-and-white drawings. Every display is well captioned with a description of what's being illustrated, where it first appeared, along with the original penciller, if Sinnott was the inker. While there are plenty of Sinnott's own compositions, the other artists whose work is well-presented in the showcasing of his contribution as a finisher are: Neal Adams, Gene Colan, Ron Frenz (2), Jack Kirby (3), Jim Steranko (2), John Tartaglione. other TwoMorrows releases Modern Masters Vol. 11 - Charles Vess Dan Spiegle - A Life In Comic Art John Romita . . .
