Boris Vallejo: Ladies - Retold Tales Of Goddesses And Heroines [-BELOW THE LINE-] (by Doris Vallejo) There's only 30 full-page art-pieces and a handful of pen & ink spot drawings in this 191 page book of Doris Vallejo's short stories. Those texts are re-visitations of the mythology of powerful women, namely: Persephone, Gorgon, Ariadne, Coronis, Deianira, Medea, Circe, Eurydice, Arachne, and Pandora. Each one of them gets a painting and some pencil work of the fantastical beings that inhabit their stories. Having canvased all the books currently on the list, I can say that, amazingly, 8 of the paintings here don't appear in any of them, but 18 of the 20 pencil drawings are collected in ULTIMATE ILLUSTRATIONS (the other 2 are also only here). Note that the simple spot pen drawings haven't gotten a good presentation elsewhere either.
