The Undersea World of Wyland
                                             (1998 - Lionheart Books)

I think many would say that Robert Wyland paints undersea fantasies - all with the additional intention of drawing attention to the preciousness of endangered life found there.  This is a collection of his work that also contains a large section about his "Whaling Walls" project - huge murals, both indoor and out, showing whales and other sea-life at their actual dimensions (at that time, he had completed about three-quarters of his 100-mural goal).  Those presentations of his art frequently show him in the process of creating them or focusing on the final product along with whatever necessary physical realities intruding into them (we're not including them in our counts of art reproductions).  So, out of 239 pages here, you'll find 115 of them featuring large exhibits of his works, more than a quarter in full-bleed fashion.  Know  that 46 of those pages are employed with displaying 23 large paintings (or triptychs) spreading across the central gutter and, admirably, only three flunk out because of the center distortion.  A number of pieces are collaborations with other artists (usually splitting a painting above/below the surface.  Those artists are:  James Coleman (3), William DeShaza, Walfrida Garcia (2), Al Hogue, John Pitre, Janet Stewart, Ray Gonzalez Tabora (6), Tracy Taylor, and Jim Warren (4)***.

*** - Note that in regards to the 'well-presented' collaborations here with Warren, most, but not all, can additionally be found so in his own collections on The List.
